Well it's that time of year again... time to get fit and compete in a sport that takes no prisioners... Flat out racing for an hour and if you don't feel like throwing up on lap two then you're just not riding hard enough...

We'll be out doing our informal training starting next Tuesday night (22nd Sept) at 7pm in Ballycullen.

All welcome... cross bike not essential but makes it much easier when it comes to lifting and carrying drills.

Wunderbar!!

Tired legs expected after the Cooley Jamboree. Should be right by Tuesday.

See you there.
It is the night. My body's weak.
I'm on the run. No time to sleep.
I've got to ride, ride like the wind to be free again.

Really good session tonight... felt strange doing it in the daylight and it was warm too.... lots of grip....

Well done to all the new people.... we went through dismounts, remounts and then picking the bike up and how to carry it... everyone did great... could see a huge improvement throughout the session. We'll pick up where we left off next week and up the level a bit so keep trying the moves during the week.

From Thursday week we will be doing weekly sessions in the Phoenix Park... these will be less technical and more aimed at fitness...

I'd be interested in trying out cyclocross - though I have serious doubts as to whether I'd be fit enough to race.

Is there a session on this Tuesday 29th (tomorrow) or is it just the Thursday in the Phoenix Park? Also, where and when are ye meeting on Thursday as I live near the Phoenix Park and that would suit me.

Tuesday night sessions will be on every Tuesday for the next few weeks. Don't worry about fitness level... We have all levels there and the training is in a very confined area so it'snot like you're going to get dropped..! Plus you can just take a break... Tuesday sessions are more focused on skills.

I'll post details of the Thursday night session once I have them....

See you tomorrow..

Dave

Thanks for the session last night. I found the cyclocross training to be tough enough. I don't know if I'd be cut out for racing but I'll keep up with the sessions and see how I get on.

Exactly what i thought 2 years ago when i did my first cross race. Finished -3 laps, covered in mud, swearing i'd never do a race again.

Last year i organised a course, trained, and pretty much wet myself at the mention of cross racing. Once you race cross you will never look back.

Do it, you'll love it, you cant finish last, just lapped Smile

Great old session last night... a bit sore today after it... especially on the old stairs...

Big improvements from people over the session. Keep practising the mounts and dismounts and get them as smooth as possible.. also the pickup and drop....
